Who are your potential sponsors? Make a list.

Local businesses, shops, offices, parks, clubs, groups, sports associations, garages, fuel stations, medical centres, warehouses, factories and your Local Authority (council) can be included in your list of potential sponsors. If your patrol is in a small town with fewer of these options, don't despair. Stretch your thinking to include individuals who are prominent in your area. Such people will have contacts who could be your source of funds. Use Trusts and other established donors (see more in this website).
Generally national and international retailers make sponsorship decisions on a national basis.

Go through your list and order it with those most likely to be in a position to sponsor you, placed at the top of the list.

Working from the top......

Obtain the name of the person in the organisation who will be best to speak or write to.
Make initial contact with that person. Introduce your self, your patrol and CPNZ in that order. Ask for a face to face meeting so you can talk about what it is your patrol needs, why it needs it and how the sponsor can help make it happen.
